WHAT
(OR WHO) IS AN AMPHIBIAN?
As you enter The National Amphibian Conservation Center, you see large,
colorful images of amphibians and their habitats. As you descend slightly
in elevation, a flowing wall of water helps strengthen the tie between
amphibians and their typically aquatic habits, and allows children (and
adults!) to touch and play with the water. Frog calls are heard here, as
well as through other parts of the building. Three live-animal exhibits
(one frog, one salamander, and one caecilian) illustrate the types of
amphibians, as we discuss how amphibians evolved from fish.
