Prehensile tail
The "grasping" tail is used for climbing through trees. This is one of the few species of skink with this specialized feature.
Large size
Members of this species are the largest of their family. Most skinks grow only to a few inches in length.

Forest areas on the Solomon Islands
Wild Diet
Epipremnum vines and Other fruit and vegetation
Predators
Snakes (juveniles) and Humans (adults)
Reproduction
One or 2 young are live-born after a gestation period of approximately 6 to 8 months.
Conservation
DECLINING
Not threatened at this time. However, collection for the pet trade is reducing populations.
