Saddle-billed stork

Distinctive beak
Large and colorful, this stork's beak has a yellow flap of skin which looks like a saddle.
Stick throwing
To chase away other birds, these storks will throw sticks and grasses into the air.

Habitat/Range
Wetlands including rivers, lakeshores, floodplains, and swamps of central Africa
Wild Diet
Fish, Frogs, Small mammals, and Small birds
Predators
Wild cats and Crocodiles
Reproduction
Pairs form lifelong bonds and occupy large breeding territories which they defend. Three eggs are usually laid, but only one or 2 chicks are raised.
Conservation
DECLINING
Becoming less common due to their dependence on wetlands.
