Reproduction
Many different female rheas lay their eggs in a single nest and males incubate the eggs. When the eggs hatch, the chicks are well developed and are ready to immediately follow the adult male on foraging expeditions.

Declining due to persecution from humans and elimination of habitat to cattle ranching.
