Inaugural Holiday Cheer at Wild Lights is December 12

ROYAL OAK, Mich., Nov. 14, 2013 – 'Tis the season for lights and libations as the Detroit Zoo hosts Holiday Cheer at Wild Lights on Thursday, December 12, 2013, 6 to 10 p.m. The 21-and-over event will allow guests to enjoy holiday drinks – starting with a beer welcome by Granite City Food & Brewery – while viewing the Zoo's spectacular light display. More than two million twinkling LED lights will brighten the evening sky and illuminate buildings, animal sculptures and trees on a half-mile trail through the front of the Zoo.

Holiday Cheer tickets are $40 and include admission, parking, "The Polar Express 4-D Experience" at the Wild Adventure Zone and three full-pour alcoholic beverages, wine or beer. Food and additional drink tickets will be available for purchase.

Designated Driver (DD) tickets are $25 and include admission, parking, "The Polar Express 4-D Experience" and unlimited soft drinks, hot cocoa and cider. DD ticket holders are not permitted to consume alcohol at the event.

Holiday Cheer tickets are available in advance at Window One at the front of the Detroit Zoo, online at http://www.detroitzoo.org/wild-lights/holiday-cheer or at the gate the night of the event (if not sold out).

Presented by Bank of America, Wild Lights will be held Nov. 23-24, 29-30; Dec. 1, 6-8, 13-15, 20-23, 26-30, 2013; and Jan. 2-5, 2014. Tickets can be purchased at Detroit Zoo main admissions or online at http://www.detroitzoo.org/events/wild-lights.
