Zoomanity and The Humane Medley – at the Ford Education Center
Plan your Zoo visit to enjoy Zoomanity and The Humane Medley – original performances created by the Mosaic Youth Theater of Detroit. These fine arts programs entertain audiences while sharing important information on animal issues. Free performances of Zoomanity have been scheduled at the Ford Education Center throughout July. On other days, the talented Mosaic Quartet will stroll throughout the park, performing The Humane Medley. Zoomanity uses snappy, streetwise dialog to bring home their introductory message: “Today we will learn about our place as humans in this world and how we can better serve the animals.” In a series of vignettes, the audience is humored into considering serious subjects such as proper pet care, animals in circuses and the Zoo’s commitment to rescued animals. Families will also delight as the Quartet inspires us to respect other creatures that share our Earth. Zoomanity and The Humane Medley were commissioned by the Madeleine Berman Academy for Humane Education at the Detroit Zoo. The vision statement of the Academy is to help people help animals. These fine arts programs are among several initiatives designed to entertain as well as inform audiences on humane education issues.
