Back for the third year are the Summer Festivals at the Detroit Zoo... Like nowhere else, presented by the Comerica Charitable Foundation. These festivals will celebrate and showcase the diversity in our community. One Saturday a month, one ethnic group will be highlighted with a day full of activities the whole family will enjoy. Each festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Activities include arts and crafts, community resource area, storytelling, ethnic food, entertainment and more.
Event Schedule for Hispanic/Latino Festival: 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Music provided by Benny Cruz y La Buena Vida 11:30 a.m. – Dance performance by ASI ES MI TIERRA (Hispanic Youth Dance Group out of Detroit) noon & 2 p.m. – Salsa performance and lessons with MSalsa (U of M’s Salsa club) 10 a.m.-3 p.m. – Community Resource Area, Arts & Crafts 11 a.m.-2 p.m. – Authentic cuisine available from Chipotle Various times – Animal Enrichment
