Animals After Dark Logo The Detroit Zoo’s Animals After Dark Overnight Program is an experience like no other!

Join us for a night filled with guided tours, unique animal-themed activities, roasting marshmallows, hands-on biofact interactions and more. Knowledgeable staff will escort groups throughout the program, providing stories and information about the Zoo’s residents. In the morning we'll tour the Zoo as the animals wake up and enjoy a continental breakfast at an animal habitat. Admission is included for all participants the day following their overnight and each participant will receive a special “Animals After Dark” T-shirt. Groups will go outside year-round, dress for the weather!

The overnight experience runs from 7 p.m. to 10 a.m. the following morning. The minimum size for youth and scout groups is 30, which includes youth and chaperones. A ratio of adults to youth must be at least 1:5 throughout the entire program. Click here for program availability.

Cost: $75 per person
(A deposit of $750 is due at the time of registration with the remaining balance due four weeks prior to the overnight. Group cancellations must be made at least four weeks in advance to receive a deposit refund.)

Family Overnight dates are available where the 30 person minimum does not apply. Individual families with children are welcome to participate in the overnight program together. This is an opportunity to spend time with each other while experiencing the Zoo in a whole new way!
