Boy Scout Programs
Meet badge requirements by visiting the Detroit Zoo! Bring your group and choose one of our daytime adventures. Most programs meet all requirements for the described program. Group minimum is 10, maximum is 50. Parents and siblings are welcome to attend at the same cost as the scouts. Group reservations to the Zoo need to be secured by calling (248) 541-5717 ext. 3800 at least two weeks prior to your visit.

Zoo Patch (All Scouts) Order a unique Zoo Patch for your scouts! The patch comes with a self-guided scavenger hunt that you can use on your next trip to the Zoo. You’ll visit many of our animal residents and take a closer look at what makes them successful in their habitats. Cost is $2 per person, plus admission.

Sharing Your World (Bear Scouts) Scouts will visit endangered species and discuss what the terms endangered and extinct means. Scouts will participate in an interactive bio-fact presentation that reminds them of the importance of animals and their adaptations to survive. During the course of the program, scouts will discover ways to make a difference locally and how important it is to pass on the message they’ve learned to other people in their community. Naturalist's Pin (Webelos Scouts) Scouts will visit the Backyards for Wildlife site, National Amphibian Conservation Center, wetlands, Holden Museum of Living Reptiles, Island Lake and other exhibits as time allows. During the tour, scouts will work on various requirements for their pin and learn about Michigan native and non-native species. A hands-on bio-fact presentation will aid in their understanding of the requirements covered. Cost is $2 per person, plus admission. Dates: Check calendar for current availability.
