A Day at the Zoo
By Anne Morrison Bradley, Corporate Gifts Manager
Vitamin Z builds wonder and provides children with experiences that stay with them for a lifetime. However, many deserving children in Detroit Public Schools (DPS) never get their chance for a dose of Vitamin Z. Financial challenges in the district leave little to no funding for field trip experiences, putting DPS students at a disadvantage compared with the students in neighboring districts. A Day at the Zoo is a chance to provide this important developmental experience for children in need. A donation of $35 provides a young person with Detroit Zoo admission, transportation (bus fees are often one of the greatest barriers in funding field trips), a nutritious lunch, a ride on the Tauber Family Railroad, admission to the Wild Adventure Ride, educational materials and chaperone expenses. You can support a classroom for $1,050, a grade for $3,500 and a school for $10,500. Please contact Anne Morrison Bradley at (248) 541-5717 ext. 3728 or amorrison@dzs.org if you and/or your company are interested in supporting this important program.
