Special Events

The Zoo hosts several yearly special, educational and community events. You may support us at a community event sharing your wonderful experience at the Zoo, wear your costume during Zoo Boo or guide guests during Wild Lights. You may even welcome guests to one of our special evening events.

• Training and shifts vary by assignment
• Seasonal shifts 2-3 hours

• How Does it work – Volunteer Opportunities

  Steps to become a volunteer:

  1.   Complete the on-line application
  2.   Volunteer Services staff email background check authorization form
     All potential volunteers are required to complete and pass a criminal background check
  3.   Invited to attend online volunteer orientation
  4.   Sign up and attend on-line orientation
  5.   Purchase required uniform t-shirt ($10.00)
  6.   Start volunteering!
