2008 YEAR OF THE FROG ARTWORK GUIDELINES

Themes which young artists may address include:
• Interpretations of Michigan frogs, toads and salamanders
• Amphibian residents at the Detroit Zoo’s National Amphibian Conservation Center and the Zoo’s efforts to propagate and conserve many rare and endangered amphibian species from around the world
• Global climate change/human impact on amphibian populations
• Amphibians and their specialized adaptations to habitats around the world

Artists, Families, Home School Leaders and Teachers Reception and Awards Ceremony 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Awards: 2:30 p.m.), Ford Education Center, Detroit Zoo  Sunday, June 1, 2008
Mosaic Murals open to the public.
Murals will display ALL artworks submitted by K-12 students and home school students from Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties for the 2008 Year of the Frog Youth Art Competition. Open to public daily during Zoo hours at Detroit Zoo and Belle Isle Nature Zoo locations.
