Animal Enrichment - Single, Half-day
Learn how our zookeepers enrich the lives of the Zoo’s animals, observe an enrichment activity and assist with creating an enrichment item to be used by our keeper staff. Program cost is $30 for members, $35 members.

This program is for the birds, literally! We’ll visit the many species that we provide habitats for here at the Zoo, starting with the penguins, aviary, and Bald Eagles. Program cost is $30 for members, $35 for non-members.

Mayhem of Metamorphosis - Single, Half-day
All amphibians experience metamorphosis. We’ll look deeper into this life-changing phenomenon by visiting the National Amphibian Conservation Center and our wetland habitats. Program cost is $30 for members, $35 for non-members.

Outback Adventures - NEW Single, Half-Day
Take a trip down under to the Australian Outback! The wallabies, kangaroos and emus are all there, waiting to hear music you’ll create when you make your own didgeridoo. Program cost is $30 for members, $35 for non-members.

Polar Opposites - Single, Half-day

Serengeti Trek - Single, Half-day
Discover the predators and prey of the African Grasslands. We’ll travel as a herd to check out the newly redone African Grasslands habitat and speak with David Gakure, Education Specialist and Kenyan Naturalist. Program cost is $30 for members, $35 for non-members.

Living in the wild is risky business! We’ll look into the amazing ways animals grow up and survive in the wild. From metamorphosis, to hatching, to predator prey relationships, we’ll delve into the animal world. Program cost is $105 for members, $115 for non-members.

Wild Tales - Half-days, Weeklong
Join us for a week of legends, stories, games, projects and more! Each day is packed full of fascinating animal facts and loads of fun. Participants will create their own animal legend in a notebook they create from recycled products. Program cost is $105 for members, $115 for non-members.

Gator 'Strators - Half-days, Weeklong
You’ll use all of the Zoo’s animal residents, not just the reptiles, to inspire you as you sharpen your skills in observing nature and learning the basic principles of simple illustration! Discover different media, such as pastels, watercolors, crayons, colored pencils and markers. This camp is adapted to meet all skill levels. Program cost is $150 for members, $115 for non-members.

Earth Trek - Weeklong, Whole Days
Campers will use a special Zoo Passport to travel to all seven continents while observing animal adaptations and behaviors first hand. Each continent visited will earn a stamp in their passport, accompanied by images of the animals that live in that part of the world. Participants will need to bring a lunch each day. Program cost is $225 for members, $235 for non-members.

Zoo Snooze Overnight - Evening
Spend the night at the Detroit Zoo! Uncover the lives of nocturnal animals during early-evening and late-night treks where you’ll experience the Zoo in a way few people ever get the chance to. S’mores, activities and a craft project fill your night. After a good night sleep in the Ford Education Center, you’ll enjoy breakfast at an animal habitat. Program cost is $75 for members, $85 for non-members.
