Aardvarks to Zebras, campers will visit a variety of Zoo animals while coloring in a unique Detroit Zoo Animal Coloring Book. Participants will be encouraged to observe the animals’ patterns, but still express their creativity! Program cost is $30 for members, $35 for non-members.

Roars and growls, hoots and hollers, squawks and squeaks! Come talk to the animals and we’ll see who answers back. Campers will visit the primates, lions, free-ranging peacocks and the macaws, some of the nosiest animals in the Zoo! Program cost is $30 for members, $35 for non-members.

Trek through the tundra, explore the open sea, watch seals swim overhead and journey through the pack ice in search of polar bears! Campers will tour the Arctic Ring of Life, a one of a kind exhibit among zoos and aquariums. Program cost is $30 for members, $35 for non-members.

Discover the weird and wild wonders of the insect world! Explore the indoor butterfly garden, then search outdoors under logs, near the ponds, and through the Backyards for Wildlife site as you get a close-up look at bugs of all sorts! Program cost is $30 for members, $35 for non-members.

The barnyard is a favorite among young guests. We’ll drop in on the horses, steer, pigs, chickens, donkeys and barn owl to see what they’re up to. Program cost is $30 for members, $35 for non-members.

What’s the difference between a crocodile and an alligator? Come find out while you visit all the reptiles that live in the Holden Museum of Living Reptiles. Program cost is $30 for members, $35 for non-members.

Join us to find out who our newest addition to the Zoo is! During 2009 we welcomed aardvarks, a red panda, lesser kudus,  a pudu and many more. We’ll visit as many new arrivals as we can. Program cost is $30 for members, $35 for non-members.

The animals can’t wait to pose for your drawings. We’ll explore very basic drawing skills and a variety of media (markers, watercolors, crayons, pastels, and colored pencils) as we visit animals in the Zoo and creatively express what we see. Program cost is $105 for members, $115 for non-members.
Dates: June 21-June 25, 9a.m.-noon
          July 5-9, 1-4 p.m.

Join us for a week of legends, stories, games, projects and more! Each day is packed full of fascinating animal facts and loads of fun. Program cost is $105 for members, $115 for non-members.

Visit animals from all over the world. Each day will bring adventures on a different continent, discovering unique animal adaptations that allow them to survive in very diverse habitats. Program cost is $105 for members, $115 for non-members.
