ROYAL OAK, Mich., June 9, 2014 – One lucky individual will tee up with three buddies for seven days of golf at some of the best courses in Ireland. Another will grab a friend and "split the D" with the Detroit Red Wings for an away game aboard the team plane, Red Bird III. These bucket list-worthy experiences represent just two of more than a dozen extraordinary prizes to be offered in the live auction at the Detroit Zoological Society's annual Sunset at the Zoo fundraiser.

Themed "Howling at the Moon" in support of the Detroit Zoo's future wolf habitat, Sunset at the Zoo takes place on Friday, June 13, 2014, 7-11:30 p.m., rain or shine. The Zoo closes at 2 p.m. that day in preparation for the festivities.

Instead of "dancing with wolves", the highest bidder and nine guests will be dining with them at the Detroit Zoo when the new wolf habitat opens next year. The live auction includes other "zoonique" experiences such as dinner for 12 with the giraffes, lions or polar bears; a custom Detroit Zoo bicycle and twilight bike tour of the Zoo; and a birthday celebration and sleepover for 20 at the Zoo.

Additional exciting live auction lots include a Fox Theatre or Joe Louis Arena suite and dinner at Vinsetta Garage for 15, the Detroit Tigers president's suite for 18, a Detroit Lions suite for 12, and a private yacht charter with dinner and drinks for 35.

Presented by Strategic Staffing Solutions, Sunset at the Zoo offers a strolling supper with tastes of signature dishes from 40 of the area's finest restaurants as well as desserts and zoo-themed specialty drinks. The event also features a silent auction, live entertainment, dancing in the moonlight and access to the Zoo's award-winning animal habitats as the sun goes down.

Supporter tickets for the 21-and-older soiree are $175 per person. Patron tickets are $300 and include a VIP reception, sponsored by the Detroit Jaguar Retailers, on June 13, 5:30-7 p.m. For information and tickets, visit www.detroitzoo.org/sunset.
