DETROIT, Mich. – The Belle Isle Nature Zoo will host its fourth annual Boo at the Nature Zoo Friday, Oct. 26, through Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Halloween treats will be provided to all who attend, and children are encouraged to wear costumes and bring treat bags. All Boo at the Nature Zoo activities are free.
The Belle Isle Nature Zoo features a Deer Encounter, where fallow deer that once roamed the island can be fed by visitors. It also includes a turtle exhibit with native Michigan turtles, an indoor beehive allowing year-round viewing of bee behavior and a spider exhibit.
The Belle Isle Nature Zoo encompasses approximately 10 acres of undisturbed forested wetland on Belle Isle in Detroit. Focusing on Michigan wildlife, flora and fauna, it provides year-round educational, recreational and environmental conservation opportunities for the community.
