Visitors can celebrate the discoverer of the New World by discovering what’s new at the Detroit Zoo.  Kivuli, a one-year-old giraffe that arrived in June, is elevating the excitement in the African Grasslands.  Two rockhopper penguin chicks that hatched in May and June are rocking the Penguinarium.  A female red panda that was born in June has visitors seeing red in her habitat across from the tigers.  And a female pudu, the world’s smallest species of deer, was born in August and is worth fawning over.
