No Tricks, Just Treats, at the Belle Isle Nature Zoo
DETROIT, Mich., October 16, 2009 – The Belle Isle Nature Zoo is inviting parents to bring their little ghouls and goblins trick-or-treating at the second annual Boo at the Nature Zoo Friday, October 30, and Saturday, October 31, 2009, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Children 12 and under are encouraged to wear costumes and bring treat bags to the two-day Halloween event.  Boo at the Nature Zoo will feature indoor treat stations, pumpkin paths and craft activities, all free of charge.  Special Deer Encounter feedings will take place each day at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

“This is an opportunity for families to spend time together and learn together.  We want kids to have a great time, learn about nature, and get a treat while doing so,” said Belle Isle Nature Zoo Manager Mike Reed.

The Belle Isle Nature Zoo is located at the east end of Belle Isle near the Blue Heron Lagoon.  The Nature Zoo is open daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. year-round and provides educational programming with interpretive staff support from the Huron-Clinton Metroparks.  Admission is free.  For more information, call (313) 852-4056 or visit www.detroitzoo.org.
