CCS Poster Competition Exhibit
The artwork judged Best in Show (shown at right), submitted by Crystal Mielcarek of Harrison Township, has been reproduced as the official Detroit Zoo poster and is available for sale at Zoofari Market for $3.  In addition, Mielcarek’s original artwork has become part of the Zoo’s permanent art collection.

The poster designs submitted for the competition were judged by a panel of jurors from the Detroit Zoological Society, CCS and Doner.  Award selection criteria included artistic merit, originality, creativity, innovation, and adherence and relevance to the competition theme.

The winning poster designs were unveiled at an awards ceremony at the Zoo on April 9.  Scholarship contributions were awarded to the best-in-show as well as first- and second-place winners.  Third- through fifth-place winners received individual Detroit Zoo memberships, and four honorable mentions received Zoo admission, parking, concession and ride tickets.

Located in midtown Detroit's Cultural Center, CCS is a private, fully accredited college enrolling over 1,300 students pursuing Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in art and design.  For more information, visit www.collegeforcreativestudies.edu.
