No Tricks, Just Treats, at the Belle Isle Nature Zoo
DETROIT, Mich., October 8, 2008 – The Belle Isle Nature Zoo is inviting parents to bring their little ghouls and goblins trick-or-treating at Boo at the Nature Zoo Thursday, October 30, and Friday, October 31, 2008, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Children 12 and under are encouraged to wear costumes and bring treat bags to the two-day Halloween event.  Boo at the Nature Zoo will feature nature-themed treat stations, special “harvest” Deer Encounters, pumpkin paths and cider and doughnuts, all free of charge.

“This is an opportunity for families to spend time together and learn together.  We want kids to have a great time, learn about nature, and get a treat while doing so,” said Belle Isle Nature Zoo Manager Mike Reed.

The Belle Isle Nature Zoo is located at the east end of Belle Isle near the Blue Heron Lagoon.  The Nature Zoo is open daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. year-round and provides educational programming with interpretive staff support from the Huron-Clinton Metroparks.  For more information, call (313) 852-4056 or visit www.detroitzoo.org/Visitors/Nature_Center/Belle_Isle_Nature_Zoo/.
