Detroit Zoological Society Names Paul R. Good Community and Government Relations Manager
ROYAL OAK, Mich., January 9, 2008 – The Detroit Zoological Society has appointed Paul R. Good to the newly created position of Community and Government Relations Manager.   Good is responsible for developing and maintaining the Society’s collaborative partnerships with community organizations, civic groups and government and service agencies.

“More than ever we are reaching out to enhance and create meaningful partnerships that allow us to serve the community,” said Detroit Zoological Society Executive Director Ron Kagan.  “Paul’s background and community involvement are a great fit for this initiative.”

Good previously served as Director of Development for the Citizens Research Council (CRC) of Michigan where he was responsible for membership retention and marketing of research products.  Prior to that, he was the CRC’s Director of Research.  Good also was Data Center Manager for the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG).

Good earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.  He serves on the Board of Directors of the Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services as well as the Community Impact Council for United Way of Southeast Michigan.  He is the former President of the Detroit Area Economic Forum and the Southeast Michigan Census Council.

A lifelong resident of the Detroit area, Good resides in Dearborn, Mich.

The Detroit Zoological Society is a non-profit organization that operates the Detroit Zoo and Belle Isle Nature Zoo.  Situated on 125 acres of naturalistic exhibits, the Detroit Zoo is located at the intersection of Ten Mile Road and Woodward Avenue, just off I-696, in Royal Oak.  The Detroit Zoo is open daily 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. November through March and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April through October.  Admission is $11.00 for adults 13 to 61, $9.00 for senior citizens 62 and older, and $7.00 for children ages 2 to 12; children under 2 are free.  For more information, call (248) 541-5717 or visit www.detroitzoo.org.  The Belle Isle Nature Zoo is open daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. year-round and provides educational programming with interpretive staff support from the Huron-Clinton Metroparks.  For more information, call (313) 852-4056.
