Fall into the New Season at the Detroit Zoo October 6 and 7
ROYAL OAK, Mich., September 25, 2007 – Changing leaves and cooler weather are sure signs of fall, and the Detroit Zoo is celebrating its arrival with the first-ever Fall Festival Saturday and Sunday, October 6 and 7.

Presented by Carhartt, the two-day festival features live entertainment, children’s activities, hay rides and seasonal food.  All activities take place in the Main Picnic Grove from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine.  Entrance to the Fall Festival is free with regular Zoo admission.

Music fills the air both days with the cover band the G-Daddy’s performing a variety of classic rock and Top 40 hits on Saturday and blues artist Pete “Big Dog” Fetters performing on Sunday.

A fun-filled children’s activity area includes arts and crafts, a giant inflatable slide, moonwalk, straw maze, pumpkin painting and face painting.  Admission to the children’s activity area is $5 per child in addition to regular Zoo admission.

Visitors can hop aboard a hay ride for $1 per person and enjoy the sights at the front of the Zoo.  Bratwurst, polish sausage, caramel apples, corn on the cob, beer and pop are available for purchase.

The Fall Festival is also supported by WOW! and Greektown Casino.
