Starbucks Frappuccino Fruit Blends to Benefit Detroit Zoo's Australian Outback Adventure

ROYAL OAK, Mich., August 8, 2006 – Thirsty Metro Detroiters can beat the heat while supporting the Detroit Zoological Society by trying two new Frappuccino juice blended beverages with a refreshing fruit twist from Starbucks Coffee Company, presenting sponsor of the Zoo’s Wild Summer Nights Concert Series.

Fifty cents from every Tangerine or Pomegranate Frappuccino juice blended beverage sold at Metro Detroit Starbucks stores from August 9 through August 16 will be donated to the Society to benefit the Australian Outback Adventure, a new Zoo experience where visitors walk along a winding path among the red kangaroos.

Guests can sample the popular juice blend beverages at the Wild Summer Nights Concert Series in the Zoo’s main picnic grove from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays through August 30.  The concerts are free with the purchase of regular Zoo admission.

Remaining Concert Schedule:
• August 9 – 47UMa (Worldbeat)
• August 16 – Candy Band (Children’s)
• August 23 – Jody Raffoul (Acoustic Rock)
• August 30 – James Coffey (Children’s)

Made with all-natural, freshly-brewed Tazo green tea, the Pomegranate Frappuccino juice blend revitalizes the senses with its lively mix of pomegranate, peach and a hint of mint blended with ice.  The Tangerine Frappuccino juice blend is a tangy blend of freshly-brewed Tazo Passion tea, tangerine, a splash of lime flavor and a touch of hibiscus blended with ice.  Refreshing and icy, its cool flavors make it a perfect choice for a hot summer day.
