Detroit Zoo Heats Up For Wild Summer Nights

ROYAL OAK, Mich., June 28, 2006 – The Detroit Zoo will be getting wild every Wednesday night during July and August with the Wild Summer Nights Concert Series.  Presented by Starbucks Coffee, the concerts will take place in the Zoo’s main picnic grove from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. July 5 through August 30.

Wild Summer Nights features a variety of live music from local bands, including children’s, jazz, rock, folk and blues.  Guests are invited to bring a blanket and pack a picnic.  In addition, food, snacks, beer, wine and soft drinks will be available for purchase from Zoo concessions. 

Wild Summer Nights is also supported by the Detroit Free Press, AM580 and Black Swan Vineyards, and is free with the purchase of regular Zoo admission.  The park will remain open until 8 p.m. on Wednesdays during the concert series.
