Thanks to all who laced up their running shoes in support of the Zoo on Sunday, September 20, 2009! The annual Bank of America Run Wild for the Detroit Zoo was a wonderful success. Over 2,850 people registered for the 5K, 10K and Fun Walk - the highest number of registered participants in the 12 year history of the event! All proceeds benefit the Ruth Roby Glancy Animal Health Complex and veterinary care for the Zoo's animals.

5K and 10K runners raced through the scenic streets of Huntington Woods surrounding the Zoo. Fun Walk participants followed an enjoyable course throughout the Zoo past many of our award-winning habitats and received special giveaways.

Afterwards, everyone joined in the fun at the Post Race Party. Participants and their families enjoyed live music by the Dave Hamilton Band, food, beverages, children's activities and the Zoo's award-winning habitats.  Thanks Bank of America and all who “ran wild” to support the Detroit Zoo!

Bank of America Run Wild for the Detroit Zoo annually raises funds to purchase equipment for the Ruth Roby Glancy Animal Health Complex and veterinary care for the Detroit Zoo animals.

If your friends or family want to support our cause but can’t make it to the race, or if they simply want to cheer you on as you help out a worthy organization, it’s now possible for them to sponsor you for the event.  The money will go toward taking care of the Zoo animals – the next best thing to running in the race.
