The Wild Adventure Birthday Celebration has all the fun that any birthday boy or girl could hope for. To top that off, kids can celebrate with thousands of animals, slither like a snake or glide like a vulture at our playground, and romp around 125 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. Every birthday should be this memorable! The package includes all the necessities to host an adventurous party at the Detroit Zoo.
Price includes:

What's a birthday party without a party game, decorations, and hats? We have those plus matching plates, cups and utensils in (of course) a colorful animal theme. We do all the work so you can enjoy this day with your child! We will host a one-of-a-kind birthday fun day for you and your guests!

We require a minimum of 12 guests for your party and the prices are as follows:
FOR NON-MEMBERS:
First 12 guests:
Child (ages 2-12) - $27.00
Adult (13 and up) - $25.00
Each additional guest:
Child - $12.00
Adult - $14.00
FOR MEMBERS OF THE DETROIT ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY:
First 12 guests:

Adult - $20.00
Each additional guest:

Adult - $14.00
Zoo members will also receive the following added benefit in addition to the great price:
• $3.00 gift certificate per person for Zoofari Market
LOCATION
The Detroit Zoo provides a private birthday tent so your guests can celebrate rain or shine. The jungle atmosphere will make your party wild and adventurous! The birthday tent is located just past Rackham Fountain behind Pizzafari and is indicated on the zoo map. The birthday tent is available during the following times:
• 11:00am-12:30pm
• 1:00pm-2:30pm
• 3:00-4:30pm
Please note that your admission tickets are valid for the entire day. Any planned activities (tours, rides etc.) should take place before or following the reserved time for your party.
ENTERTAINMENT AND PACKAGES
The Wild Birthday Package is a complete and fun-filled experience. But why not go totally wild by adding any of these additional benefits to top off your package?!
WALK THE WILD BIRTHDAY
Children under age 6 can enjoy an opportunity to touch a variety of animal artifacts such as fur, skin, bones, feathers and teeth as an early learning experience in identifying animals. Children 6 and older have a 45-minute walking tour with a Zoo Docent (volunteer educator) who will engage the children with information about our amazing animals. Adult guests may take part in these activities as well. Add only $3.00 per person for this awesome experience.
RIDE THE WILD BIRTHDAY
A ride on the historic Tauber Family Railroad is a highlight for every young visitor and can be added to the birthday celebration along with the exciting experience of the Wild Adventure Ride. The Simulator is a motion-based ride with three different shows throughout the day. Based on NASA's Flight Simulator technology, the Wild Adventure Ride uses a 70mm film, six track digital surround sound, and almost 2 g's of motion. These features allow riders to have a multi-sensory experience and an amazing sense of how animals live in the wild. Party-goers can choose from three different films, Dolphins, Deep Sea, or Wilderness Adventure. (Children must be at least 36" tall to ride the Simulator). Add only $6.00 per person for both of the wild rides.
TOTALLY WILD BIRTHDAY
If one or the other just is not enough, you can go Totally Wild and add both of the options to the Adventure package. Add $9.00 per person to go totally wild.
FINAL GUEST COUNT
Your FINAL guest count is due to the Birthday Party Coordinator the MONDAY BEFORE your scheduled party date. The final guest count should include the names of all children and adults attending the party. The final guest count will be used to figure your invoice.
PAYMENT
Your payment includes zoo entrance fees, food, beverages, party favors and activities. A NON-REFUNDABLE $150.00 deposit is required when you reserve a date. The remaining balance is due with your final guest count the MONDAY BEFORE your scheduled party date. Payments may be made by cash, check or credit card (Visa, MC, or AMEX).
GUEST CHECK-IN AND PARKING
Guests may enter the Zoo parking lots off Ten Mile Road, or off Woodward Avenue. Parking is $5.00 per vehicle. Upon arrival, check-in with Guest Relations at the Birthday Party Express Entrance to obtain your individual admission tickets. Under no circumstances are parents to drop off their unescorted children before you arrive. The Detroit Zoo cannot be responsible for childcare. For everyone's convenience, parties start promptly. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU AND YOUR GUESTS ARRIVE ON TIME. We suggest that you advise your guests to arrive at least 30 minutes before the party's start time or earlier to enjoy the zoo.
RESTRICTIONS
For animal health and welfare reasons, we ask that you not bring balloons, styrofoam products, straws, glitter, confetti, or Mylar ribbon into the Zoo. These items are a risk to exhibits and can harm our animals if ingested. Please refrain from bringing pets, piñatas, balls, and all other objects listed in the Zoo rules to the event. Decorations are not required – the Zoo's environment and Birthday Tent provide a wonderful atmosphere.
