Duck Funerary Urn, 200-300 A.D.

All gods in the Moche/Vicus culture were connected to natural elements, with animals the most important. The reverence they felt for their gods is indicated in their burial practices, where the animal is sculpted into a vessel which could be "used" in the after life.

Artist unknown, Moche/Vicus, Peru
