Endangered Grevy's zebras are exhibited in the largest of the four exhibits along with another species, Blesbok, all native to Africa. The quickest way to the zebra exhibit is to board the zoo train at the main train station.

The Zebra Exhibit is located in the African Veldt in the northwest corner of the zoo. The African Veldt, originally called the Steppe Exhibit area, was constructed in 1928 following the end of the first season for the Detroit Zoological Park. Within the African Veldt there are four exhibit areas which hold 7 different species of animals.
