The Detroit Zoological Society's collection of reptiles is primarily housed inside the Holden Museum of Living Reptiles, which is located near the middle of the park.

This building, which opened in 1960, is home to over 85 species (and approximately 250 specimens) of animals, approximately 1/5 of which are considered threatened or endangered in the wild.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are planning a visit to the Holden Museum of Living Reptiles and require assistance in reading any signage above the exhibits, please contact us in advance of your visit. A Zoo volunteer or staff member can be available to provide you with assistance.
