The Detroit Zoo continues to provide memorable and engaging family entertainment with the state-of-the-art 126-seat Wild Adventure 3-D/4-D Theater at the Ford Education Center. The new multimedia attraction is now showing "Wild World Africa", a SimEx-Iwerks Entertainment film that delivers 3-D technology enhanced with full-sensory 4-D effects, including wind, mist, scents, back pokers and leg ticklers.
The feature film depicts the day-to-day activities at an actual wildlife preserve. Filmed entirely on location at the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in Kenya, "Wild World Africa" weaves the stories of a lion tracker, animal doctor, poachers, game rangers and a young boy into an exciting wildlife adventure. The film features never-before-seen 3-D footage of Africa's wildest animals, including elephants, rhinos, giraffes, buffalo, zebras, cheetahs and lions.
For a limited time, tickets are an introductory price of $3 with regular Zoo admission for visitors 2 years and older.
Effective December 1, theater tickets available online (one month at a time).
