Educational Experiences At The Zoo
The Detroit Zoo offers training opportunities for veterinary students and veterinary technicians in their last year of clinical training.  The veterinary training programs can provide application information.  Information is also available on the AAZV and AZVT web sites.

Students interested in becoming a veterinarian have several options for gaining experience and learning more about the profession.

Small and large animal clinics provide more opportunities for hands-on experiences with veterinary medicine. Contact local veterinary practices to find a clinic that will allow students to visit for a day or longer.

Each spring the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine opens its doors for Vetavisit, an open house designed to offer a glimpse of all aspects of the veterinary profession.  Michigan State University also has a website http://cvm.msu.edu/education.htm  which provides information about being accepted into veterinary training.
