A veterinarian must go to college for many years; jobs are not plentiful, and the workdays are long, but the excitement and satisfaction of helping zoo animals make it all worthwhile. Other zoo careers include veterinary technician, zookeeping, landscape, zoo architecture, nutrition, and more. There are many people who care for the animals, and there is always room for more dedicated, caring people.
