Stripes
Stripes create a disappearing act and help a zebra blend into its grassland habitat -- especially at dusk and at night when predators are most active.
Distinctive patterns
Like human fingerprint patterns, no two zebras share the same stripe pattern.

Habitat/Range
Grasslands of northern Kenya and southern Somalia
Wild Diet
Grasses, Shrubs, Leaves, Fruits, Roots, and Bark
Predators
Lions, Spotted hyenas, African wild dogs, Cheetahs (foals and juveniles), Leopards, and Humans
Reproduction
After a gestation of 390 days, a single brown-striped foal is born (usually in August or September).
Conservation
ENDANGERED
There are fewer than 15,000 Grevy's zebras in the world.
