Chimpanzees are genetically the closest relatives to humans.
Individual faces
Each chimp has a very distinctive face. Young chimps have faces that lack pigmentation, which will darken as they get older. jaws and only partially retractable claws.

Forests of central and western Africa
Wild Diet
Fruits, Leaves, Buds, Seeds, Bark, Insects, Bird eggs, and Meat
Predators
Leopards and Humans
Reproduction
A single infant, rarely twins, is born after a gestation of 8-1/2 months. The mother is the sole provider and will nurse her infant for up to 4 years, until the next infant is born. Maturity is reached at around 10 years.
Conservation Status
ENDANGERED
Endangered due to habitat loss and hunting by humans.
