Capybaras may weigh up to 150 pounds.
Water lovers
Capybaras live near water to feed on vegetation and escape in times of danger. They have webbed feet to make them better swimmers.

Areas of dense vegetation around rivers and lakes of South America
Wild Diet
Grasses and Aquatic plants
Predators
Jaguars, Alligators, and Humans
Reproduction
Two to 4 young are born after a gestation of 15 to 18 weeks. Like many other rodents, the young are well developed at birth.
Conservation Status
DECLINING
Their range is greatly reduced due to habitat destruction and hunting, but capybaras are not considered threatened.
